Hi! I’d like to share with you guys my favorite city called “Marunouchi”, which is the area between the Tokyo Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station. Marunouchi is famous as the biggest business district in Japan and many people visit it and take pictures in that area. When you finish reading this page, you will understand why I love Marunouchi even if I’m an uni student who have nothing to do with “business”.

Marunouchi Illumination 丸の内イルミネーション
I like the night scenery of Marunouchi especially in winter. To give you an example, Marunouchi Illumination is a characteristic of winter in Marunouchi area. More than two hundred trees on the Naka-dori street are gorgeously lit up with gold.
Also, there are luxury brand shops and restaurants on each side of the street. Walking through this street put me in a good mood and get rid of my stress, which is one of the reasons why I love Marunouchi.
Naka-dori street becomes car-free in a specific time. I’ve seen a woman wearing a gorgeous red dress sitting on the mid of the street was taken pictures by professional photographers. Have you ever seen such a scene in your country?
Marunouchi Brick Square 丸の内ブリックスクエア
In Marunouchi Brick Square, a monument is set up as part of Marunouchi Illumination. For example, when the winter event in 2020 called “Marunouchi Bright Christmas 2020～LOVE & WISHES～” was held, the adorable monument in the photo below was set up and a lot of people were engrossed in taking its pictures. When I first came to see illumination in here, I was impressed by this adorable hiding place.
There are many nice restaurants in this place, so you can enjoy having a meal seeing beautiful illumination.

Tokyo Station 東京駅
Lastly, I’d like to write about Tokyo Station. Have you ever seen a picture of Tokyo Station on Instagram? It is a famous and popular place to take pictures and you can see a lot of nice photos of the station on Internet.
Tokyo Station is one of the important examples of early-20th-century architecture. I like the station’s old-fashioned appearance which stands out among tall buildings around it.
