Hi, everyone! I would love to introduce you to my favorite place in Japan.
My favorite city is Arashiyama(嵐山), which is one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Kyoto. You can enjoy historic temples, rich nature, and delicious Japanese cuisine.
Places to see
Here are three recommended places in Arashiyama.
The first one is Togetsu Bridge(渡月橋), which is a symbol of Arashiyama. I love the beautiful scenery of the bridge over Oigawa-river(大堰川) and Mt. Arashiyama.

The second one is the Bamboo forest(竹林の小径). It is a path about 400 meters long with Bamboo forest spreading on both sides. The bamboo grove growing straight towards the sky offers a spectacular view, which makes me feel refreshed and cozy.
The third one is Nagatsuji street(⻑辻通), the main street of Arashiyama. There are various shops including souvenir shops, restaurants, and cafes where you can eat matcha sweets. You can also ride a rickshaw.
Food
The charm of Arashiyama is not only the beautiful scenery but also the delicious food. I went to a soba restaurant with a beautiful outside view and open windows. I also ate mochi and yuba soft. You can eat a lot of Kyoto food in Arashiyama and all of them are awesome.
(This restaurantʼs name is Yoshimura(よしむら), located near the Oigawa-river)
Activities
Arashiyama has some fun activities such as trolley train and Hozugawa-river-rafting. You can see the beautiful nature of Arashiyama while on the train or going down the river.

Finally
Arashiyama is also famous for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, so I recommend you to visit in spring or autumn. Having said that, Arashiyama has various attractions depending on the season and the scenery changes all year round, so it is always a beautiful city.
